AGM Statement
Eden Research plc provided an update ahead of its Annual General Meeting, highlighting continued commercial and regulatory progress for its biopesticide and biocontrol technologies. Key achievements include California approval for Mevalone® on grapes, a distribution partnership in Kenya, a commercial agreement with Syngenta for ornamental crops, and further temporary authorisation for Ecovelex in Italy. Eden Research plc (AIM: EDEN), a leader in sustainable biopesticide and biocontrol technology, provides an update to shareholders ahead of its Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’) today at Cavendish's office, 1 Bartholomew Close, London EC1A 7BL at 10:00am BST. At the meeting, Eden's Chairman, Lykele van der Broek, will make the following statement:
“Since the beginning of 2025, Eden has continued to build on the momentum established and has made further progress in strengthening its position as an emerging leader in biological crop protection.
“The Company has delivered further commercial and regulatory milestones across its existing portfolio. These included the California approval for Mevalone® on grapes against powdery mildew, the appointment of Andermatt Kenya as exclusive distribution partner for Mevalone® in Kenya, the first commercial agreement with Syngenta covering ornamental crops in several EU countries and the United Kingdom, further temporary authorisation for Ecovelex-treated maize seeds in Italy, and a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Royal Holloway, University of London, supported by Innovate UK, to accelerate Ecovelex development and broaden its application.
“These developments continue to broaden Eden's addressable markets, reinforce the strength of its technology platform and support the Board's confidence in the Company's long-term growth prospects.
“Alongside this visible progress, there is also significant activity taking place in the background across Eden's product development pipeline. The Board is particularly encouraged by the exciting opportunities being advanced in relation to Eden's insecticide programme, its potato late blight product and its wheat septoria product, each of which addresses important crop protection needs in large and commercially attractive markets.
“Eden's wider pipeline remains an important source of future value. At last year's AGM, the Company highlighted strong progress in its insecticide development programme, including extensive field trial activity and engagement with potential distribution partners, as well as work on additional product candidates targeting late blight and other important pest and disease challenges. Building on that foundation, activity continues at pace and the Board believes these programmes represent compelling product development opportunities for the Company.
“In particular, Eden's insecticide programme remains an exciting prospect as the market continues to look for effective and sustainable alternatives to conventional chemistry. At the same time, the Company's potato late blight and wheat septoria programmes reflect Eden's strategy of focusing on high-value problems where biological solutions can offer meaningful commercial and agronomic benefits. While product development and regulatory pathways in crop protection are inherently methodical and can take time, the progress being made behind the scenes gives the Board increasing confidence in the breadth and quality of Eden's future portfolio.
“As noted previously, the crop protection industry is heavily regulated, methodical and at times frustratingly slow paced. Nevertheless, the continued evolution of biopesticides remains a highly positive development for the industry, the environment and consumers, and investment in this area continues to grow through both internal development and M&A activity.
“The Board therefore remains optimistic about Eden's prospects. The progress achieved across the current portfolio, together with the significant background activity in product development, and the successful fundraise completed in April 2026, positions the Company well for the future and supports confidence in Eden's ability to create sustainable long-term value for shareholders.
“I would like to thank Eden's shareholders for their continued support and the Eden team for their hard work and commitment.”
