accesso Technology Group plc (AIM: ACSO), the premier technology solutions provider for attractions and venues worldwide, today announces that following a long-planned transition period, Lee Cowie has now been appointed Chief Executive Officer and as an Executive Director of the Company. Concurrently, Steve Brown has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer and as a Director of the Company.
Lee joined accesso in January 2025 as Chief Operating Officer under a structured succession plan, with the clear intention that he would succeed Steve as Chief Executive Officer in due course. He brings significant technology leadership experience, including as Chief Technology Officer at Merlin Entertainments, where he provided technology leadership to more than 125 visitor attractions across 28 countries. Over the past year Lee has worked across all areas of the business, engaging deeply with the Group's teams, customers and operations, and taking direct responsibility for leading the operational execution of accesso's priorities for 2026. These include the ongoing transformation of the Group's commercial execution operation, the expansion of its payments business, and its AI strategy. The Board is confident that Lee's deep sector knowledge, technology credentials and thorough integration into the business position him well to lead accesso into its next phase of growth.
Steve Brown will remain available to the Board and to Lee for a period following the transition.
Lee Cowie, Chief Executive Officer, commented:
"I am delighted to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer at accesso. Over the past year I have worked closely with Steve and the wider team, engaging directly with our customers and developing a deep understanding of our technology and markets. That experience has reinforced my conviction in the strength of accesso's platform, the quality of its people and the scale of the opportunity ahead.
"Attractions and venues are under more pressure than ever to deliver exceptional guest experiences while operating efficiently by generating insight from their data. accesso is uniquely positioned to help them do exactly that, and the recent addition of accesso Intelligence represents an exciting new capability for our customers and for the business. I am looking forward to working with the team to drive the next phase of accesso's growth and to deliver long-term value for our customers, our people and our shareholders."
Bill Russell, Non-Executive Chairman of accesso, said:
"The appointment of Lee Cowie as Chief Executive Officer follows a deliberate succession process, and the Board has full confidence in him as the right leader to take accesso forward. Lee brings deep experience in attractions technology, a strong track record of operational leadership and a clear understanding of the opportunity ahead for this business. We are excited to see what he will build.
"I also want to take this opportunity to thank Steve Brown for an extraordinary contribution to accesso. Over nearly two decades, Steve has helped grow accesso into the diversified global technology platform it is today, alongside an exceptional team. That is a remarkable legacy, and the Board wishes him every success."
Steve Brown, outgoing Chief Executive Officer, added:
"I am proud of what this team has built and Lee is exactly the right person to lead accesso forward. I have known Lee for many years, first as one of our most important customers and then as a close colleague, and I have seen first-hand both his understanding of this industry and his ability to lead complex, high-performing organisations. The platform is strong, the talent runs deep, and the recent addition of accesso Intelligence opens an exciting new chapter for the business. I could not be more confident in the future."
