Planning sign off and commencement of Surgical Hub construction

One Health Group plc (AIM: OHGR), the independent provider of NHS-funded surgical procedures for patients referred by their GP through 'Patient Choice', announces that the final environmental pre-commencement planning condition sign-off for the Company's first Surgical Hub in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, has been completed and construction will start imminently.

The Board remains confident that the project is on track to be delivered within the one-year construction period and in line with the previous cost estimate of £8m to £9m. The new surgical hub is expected to provide significant additional surgical operating capacity and has the potential to materially enhance the Group's revenue and profitability. The surgical hub model is also aligned with central Government drive towards delivering more care in the community through geographically separate, community-based surgical hubs, which are expected to free up capacity within NHS Hospitals and alleviate NHS waiting list pressures.

Adam Binns, Chief Executive Officer, commented:

"We're delighted to confirm that construction of our first site in Scunthorpe will start imminently, representing a significant milestone for the business. This development reinforces our strategy to introduce surgical capacity in regions where there is no NHS or independent provider provision, and NHS patient demand is high. We remain confident in the expected one‑year construction timetable and look forward to updating shareholders on further construction progress in due course."
