Checkit plc (AIM: CKT), the intelligent operations platform for frontline-led organisations announces that Non-Executive Director, Alex Curran, will step down from the board of Checkit (the “Board”) immediately after more than three years of service to focus on her other obligations. The directors would like to thank Alex for her wise counsel over that period.

The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of John Wilson to the Board as Non-Executive Director, effective immediately.

John, who will serve on the Board's Audit and Remuneration Committees, was CEO of Elektron Technology plc for nearly a decade before leading a successful management buyout of its subsidiary, Bulgin Ltd, in 2019, after which Elektron changed its name to Checkit. John remained on the Board of Checkit as a Non-Executive Director until January 2023 and served as CEO of Bulgin until September 2024, when he joined AFC Energy plc, now H-Power plc, as CEO.

Since leaving the Board in January 2023, John has remained a supporter of the Company through his shareholding.

John is also Non-Executive Director of Volex plc (a FTSE250 company) and Non-Executive Chair of Candessa AI plc.

Keith Daley, Non-Executive Chair, said:

“We are hugely grateful to Alex for her contribution. I have particularly appreciated her calm, commercial and highly pragmatic approach.

“I am pleased to welcome John back to the Board of Checkit. John has highly relevant experience in directing and supporting significant shareholder value creation. As a prior CEO of Checkit, under its former name of Elektron Technology plc, he oversaw the sale to private equity of its subsidiary Bulgin for £105m and the subsequent return of approximately £81m to shareholders.

“Under his leadership, Bulgin was sold again 3 years later in a further successful transaction. John’s experience, business relationships and general business acumen will further strengthen the Board as it seeks to maximise shareholder value. I am excited to be working with him again.”
