Bezant (AIM: BZT), the copper-gold exploration and resource development company, is pleased to announce the signing of an exclusive Mining and Logistics Services Agreement (the "Agreement") between the Company's Namibian subsidiary, Hope and Gorob Mining Pty Ltd ("H&G") and Unitrans Namibia Pty Ltd ("Unitrans").
Services to be provided will include drilling, blasting and secondary breaking of ore and waste, loading and hauling, road maintenance, short-term mine planning for the Hope and Gorob mine site and material handling at the NLZM processing plant. The Agreement is for an initial period of 5 years with an option to extend the Agreement for further periods of 3 to 5 years.
H&G has been working closely with Unitrans for a number of months establishing the scope of the Hope and Gorob mining project and the detailed terms of the exclusive appointment.
Unitrans has also been introduced to H&G's external mining engineering consultant responsible for development of the mine plan and schedule and all parties are working towards a commencement of mining and commercial operations during H2 2026.
Colin Bird, Executive Chairman of Bezant, commented "We are delighted to be working with Unitrans Namibia and extending our involvement with Namibian contractors and suppliers as we move towards project completion and commissioning. A considerable amount of work remains to be completed but we remain on schedule to commence commercial operations during H2 2026".
Edwin Hewitt, Chief Executive Officer of Unitrans, added: "We are pleased to be appointed by Bezant, and its Namibian subsidiary Hope and Gorob, as their mining and logistics partner. Unitrans brings established mining and logistics capability across Southern Africa, providing integrated on‑ and off‑mine solutions that support projects from development through to commercial operations.
