Zinc Distribution secures international sales
Zinc Media Group announced that its international sales division, Zinc Distribution, has secured multiple international sales for the two-part documentary series "Brexit: A Very British Civil War." The series, which premiered on BBC Two on June 8, 2026, attracting 800,000 viewers and an 8.3% audience share, has been licensed for distribution in North America, the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia, and Ireland, with further agreements anticipated. Zinc Media Group plc (AIM: ZIN), the award-winning television, brand and audio production group, is pleased to announce that Zinc Distribution, the Group's international sales division, has secured several international sales for Brexit: A Very British Civil War, a major new two-part documentary produced by Brook Lapping.
The series tells the inside story of the EU referendum on its tenth anniversary, drawing on first-hand accounts from those at the heart of both campaigns, including David Cameron, Boris Johnson, Nigel Farage, Michael Gove, George Osborne, Gordon Brown and Jeremy Corbyn.
The 2 x 60-minute series premiered on BBC Two on 8 June 2026, with both episodes released on BBC iPlayer the same day. The launch drew 800,000 viewers and an 8.3% audience share, and was met with strong critical acclaim, including a five-star review from The Telegraph and four-star reviews from The Guardian and the Financial Times.
Zinc Distribution has completed licensing agreements covering North America (BBC Select, including Canada and the Caribbean), BBC News Arabic, Persian, Ukraine and Russia, and RTÉ in Ireland. Further broadcaster agreements are expected shortly, with discussions ongoing across multiple territories.
The sales illustrate a core strength of the Group's model: Zinc both produces premium content through its labels and monetises it internationally through its own distribution division, capturing value across the chain.
International distribution provides a scalable, higher-margin revenue stream that extends the commercial life of the Group's content well beyond its first broadcast, and builds a catalogue of owned and represented rights that can generate revenue over many years.
Mark Browning, CEO of Zinc Media Group, added: "This is the Zinc model working end to end, a standout series from one of our labels, selling into territory after territory through our own distribution business. It is exactly how we turn premium production into durable, multi-territory revenue, and Brexit: A Very British Civil War is shaping up to be one of our most internationally significant titles this year."
