Winvia Entertainment (AIM: WVIA), a technology-led entertainment business, focused on prize draw competitions and online gaming, is pleased to announce that it has entered into a partnership with Aston Villa Football Club ("Aston Villa") to launch a new Aston Villa-branded prize draw competition.
Under the partnership, Winvia will develop and operate the official Aston Villa prize draw competition, 'Villa Win', a new prize draw competition for Aston Villa supporters. The competition will give Aston Villa's engaged fanbase the opportunity to enter regular prize draws, with the potential for exclusive Aston Villa-themed prizes and fan experiences. Winvia will provide the technology platform, operational infrastructure and prize draw expertise.
This partnership marks BOTB's first major B2B deployment of its prize draw technology. Through this model, BOTB enables trusted brands with large, engaged audiences to create their own prize draw products, giving supporters a fun and engaging way to interact with the brand, while generating funds to support its wider activities. BOTB will manage all operational, regulatory and technical requirements of the competition, which will be operated in line with the Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators, which the Group fully supports.
The Company sees significant potential for this partner-led approach across sport, entertainment and other sectors, enabling brands with engaged audiences to generate additional funds through a fun entertainment-led prize draw product.
For Aston Villa, the partnership will generate a new, scalable source of revenue that can be reinvested into the Club's long-term growth and can support the Club's ongoing investment in community activities. The competition also enables Aston Villa to build stronger direct relationships with supporters, enhancing fan engagement beyond matchdays and creating year-round touchpoints with audiences both in the UK and internationally.
Gil Barel, Head of Strategic Partnerships and M&A, of Winvia Entertainment, commented:
"Villa Win is a strong example of the partner-led opportunities that we are confident our platform is built to support and represents another step in delivering the strategy we set out at IPO.
"Aston Villa has a powerful brand and a highly engaged supporter base and has recognised the opportunity for prize draws to bring supporters together in a fun and engaging way. We are pleased to be working with the Club to launch a new prize draw competition supported by our technology platform, operational capability and prize draw expertise.
"For Winvia, this partnership demonstrates how we can apply our platform into new channels with established audiences. We are confident that this model has the potential to scale across other clubs and sports organisations and become an increasingly important part of the Group's long-term growth strategy over time."
Francesco Calvo, President of Business Operations at Aston Villa, said:
"Winvia's platform and expertise will allow us to create more fan engagement opportunities through our new Villa-themed prize draws.
"It will not only allow us to interact with our supporters in a fun and different way, but any revenues generated can be reinvested in a number of ways including our many community schemes."
