Oxford Metrics plc (LSE: OMG), the smart sensing and measurement technology group serving life sciences, entertainment, engineering and manufacturing markets, announces the appointment of Stefan Lampa as Chief Executive Officer and as a director of the Company. Stefan's appointment is expected to take effect from early December 2026. Stefan will succeed Imogen O'Connor, who has decided to step down as Chief Executive Officer and from the Board with immediate effect for health reasons.
Gary Bullard, Non-Executive Chair, will act as interim CEO until Stefan's appointment takes effect, ensuring continuity of leadership as the Group continues to execute its stated strategy. While Imogen has decided that this is the appropriate point to step back from her day-to-day responsibilities, she will remain available to support the Group on certain key projects and delivery of an orderly transition through to the end of 2026. Thereafter, Imogen shall remain available to consult to the Group on an ad hoc basis, as required.
Stefan brings extensive international leadership experience across robotics, automation and industrial technology businesses. He was most recently Chief Executive Officer of ProGlove, a provider of smart wearable scanner solutions for industrial applications. At ProGlove, Stefan led the company's shift towards software, data and AI-enabled solutions and transitioned its business model from a capex sales model to a SaaS model, which resulted in improved profitability and annual revenue growth of 30%. Prior to this, he held senior roles at Cargotec, KUKA Robotics and ABB Robotics, including President of Kalmar, Chief Executive Officer of KUKA Robotics and Global Head of Robots and Applications at ABB Robotics.
The Board believes Stefan's experience is highly relevant to Oxford Metrics' next phase of development. The Group has strong foundations in Vicon, its global motion capture business, with precision, automation and measurement increasingly important in the Group's vision metrology division. Stefan's background in robotics and automation aligns with growing opportunities for the Group's sensing, software and data capabilities across robotics, simulation, sport, healthcare and AI-enabled applications.
Stefan's appointment is subject to the completion of normal regulatory due diligence by the Group's nominated adviser as well as Stefan obtaining the right to work in the UK. A further announcement will be made in due course.
Gary Bullard, Non-Executive Chair of Oxford Metrics, commented:
"On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Imogen for her outstanding contribution over more than 25 years. She has played a central role in the development of the business, not only overseeing the delivery of record performances in Vicon but also the successful launch of the vision metrology division. She leaves with our deep gratitude and very best wishes.
I look forward to welcoming Stefan as Chief Executive Officer. Oxford Metrics has outstanding technology, exceptional people and strong market positions, and the Board believes he is well placed to lead the Group through its next phase of development. The strategy and medium-term ambitions we set out at our recent investor event provide a clear framework for growth for Oxford Metrics, and Stefan's experience will support the continued execution of that plan.
We see significant opportunity to build on Vicon's global leadership in motion capture, further develop our Industrial Vision and Metrology business, and accelerate the commercialisation of our sensing, software and data capabilities."
Stefan Lampa, incoming CEO, commented:
"I am excited to be joining Oxford Metrics at such an important moment. It is a remarkable brand, trusted globally in demanding applications where precision and data quality matter.
The growth of robotics, AI-enabled workflows and human-machine interaction creates significant opportunities for technologies that capture and apply movement with accuracy. I look forward to working with the Board and the team to build on the Group's strengths and deliver sustained growth."
Imogen O'Connor, outgoing CEO, commented:
"It has been a privilege to spend more than 25 years with the Group, including leading both Vicon and, for the last three years, as Chief Executive of Oxford Metrics. The business has exceptional people, trusted technology and strong customers.
The decision to step down has been difficult, but it is the right time for me to focus on my health and support an orderly transition. I am proud of what the team has achieved and confident about the opportunities ahead. I wish Stefan, Gary, the Board and everyone at Oxford Metrics every success for the future."
