Mindflair plc, the AIM-quoted company focused on investing in Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) related technology, is pleased to note that Sure Valley Ventures’ second fund (“SVV2”), in which Mindflair holds an interest, has made a new investment in Nettle Limited (“Nettle”), as part of an oversubscribed $4.8 million seed funding round (the “Funding Round”).
The Funding Round was led by MTech, with existing investor Project A Ventures making a significant follow-on investment, alongside SVV, Portfolio Ventures, Ventures Together and selected angel investors. The Funding Round brings Nettle’s total funding to $6.8 million, following a $2.0 million pre-seed round in March 2025.
Nettle has developed an AI Workspace for loss control that helps commercial insurers identify, capture, analyse and report physical risk more efficiently. According to Nettle, its platform enables insurers to complete risk inspections five times faster and is already used by insurers including Allianz and Brotherhood Mutual across Europe, the US and Asia.
Founded in 2024 by former QuantumBlack colleagues Jack Miller and Katya Kinane, Nettle will use the new funding to expand across the US and Europe and grow its engineering and go-to-market teams.
Mindflair has built a portfolio of over 40 AI-focused companies to date and continues to support its investee businesses as they develop their technologies and scale internationally.
Nicholas Lee, Director of Mindflair plc, commented:
“We are pleased to see SVV2 invest in Nettle alongside a strong group of specialist investors. Nettle is applying AI to a clear operational challenge in commercial insurance, and its existing customer adoption and international presence are encouraging signs of progress.”
