KR1 plc (LSE: KR1), a London Stock Exchange-listed onchain infrastructure company, is pleased to announce the launch of Technology Infrastructure operations on Bittensor, enabled by recent acquisitions of TAO, the network’s native digital asset. Bittensor is a decentralised network coordinating the production and delivery of artificial intelligence (“AI”) services.
Over recent months, the Company has acquired 5,000 TAO and launched staking operations on Bittensor as part of its Technology Infrastructure strategy. Based on reward rates observed as at 28 October 2026, the Company estimates annualised infrastructure income equivalent to approximately 6.6% of the current value of its deployed TAO holdings. These activities advance KR1’s mission to unlock public-market access to productive digital assets and the onchain infrastructure driving the convergence of AI and crypto.
Bittensor is a Layer 1 blockchain supporting decentralised markets, known as “subnets”, for services including AI inference, computing capacity, training and prediction. Each subnet defines a task and a mechanism for evaluating results, enabling independent suppliers to compete for network rewards according to their performance. Token incentives help attract resources while these services develop and establish customer demand.
Chutes, an AI inference subnet operating on Bittensor, demonstrates the model in practice: companies access open AI models on demand, paying for the processing they use without owning and operating the underlying infrastructure. Chutes uses Bittensor’s token incentives to attract independent operators to supply that capacity.
KR1 expects AI to expand demand for compute, data and tools, alongside onchain infrastructure that enables software to purchase services, settle obligations and act autonomously on users’ behalf. Bittensor sits on the supply side of this emerging economy, providing exposure to the production and delivery of AI services and complementing KR1’s participation in the networks supporting this economic activity.
KR1 is deploying its TAO holdings through staking operations to generate infrastructure income, while maintaining long-term exposure to Bittensor’s growth. Staking on Bittensor involves backing validators that assess the performance of service providers, in return for a share of network rewards. TAO can be unstaked without a mandatory unbonding period, allowing the Company to access its holdings immediately upon unstaking. The Company believes the network can capture a growing share of the market for AI and computing services.
KR1’s approach draws on its operational experience and technical knowledge to assess deployment opportunities, select validators and manage the compounding or realisation of rewards. Rewards may be retained to grow the Company’s productive asset base or realised to support further investments and operating costs.
Keld van Schreven, Managing Director and Co-Founder of KR1 plc, commented:
“As AI makes increasingly complex work executable in software, we expect demand for the infrastructure supplying that intelligence to grow substantially. Bittensor brings open competition to the supply of AI services. Our focus is on where its incentives are building services customers will keep paying for, and how we deploy our TAO holdings to grow the value and earning capacity of the productive digital assets behind each KR1 share.”
Further information on the Company’s TAO holdings and related infrastructure income will be provided in its regular monthly unaudited updates. Additional commentary and analysis will be published on the Company’s Substack and X channels.
