Halo Minerals plc (AIM: HALO), the copper development company focused on recovering critical minerals from legacy mining waste, is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Minera Playa Verde SpA, has been granted a key mining permit for the Playa Verde copper and gold tailings processing project in northern Chile (“Playa Verde” or the “Project”). The permit, required under Article 17 No. 1 of the Chilean Mining Code, authorises mining works relating to the dredging of mineral-bearing material at Chañaral beach, an important step as Halo advances the Project towards a final investment decision (“FID”) and development.

Highlights:

Key mining permit granted for the Playa Verde Project under Article 17 No. 1 of the Chilean Mining Code.

Authorises mining works relating to the dredging of mineral-bearing material at Chañaral beach, including within the urban area.

The Regional Ministerial Secretariat for Housing and Urban Development of Atacama (“MINVU”) confirmed it had no objection to the granting of the permit.

Important further step in de-risking Playa Verde as Halo advances the Project towards FID and development.

Mining Permit

The mining permit has been granted pursuant to Exempt Resolution No. 473, issued by the Provincial Presidential Delegation of Chañaral (the “Resolution”). The Resolution authorises Minera Playa Verde SpA to undertake mining works related to the dredging of mineral-bearing material present on the beach at Chañaral, including areas located within the urban zone. The Resolution describes the Project as comprising the extraction by dredging of historic tailings deposited at Chañaral beach, their processing through a metallurgical plant to recover copper as cathodes and concentrates, and the subsequent return of the processed material to the beach following treatment and conditioning.

As part of the permitting process, MINVU confirmed that it had no objections to the granting of the permit for mining works associated with the Playa Verde Project. The Resolution also records the Project's favourable environmental assessment pursuant to Resolution No. 202599101932 dated 15 October 2025 of the Committee of Ministers, which modified RCA No. 20240300118/2024 of the Atacama Environmental Assessment Commission.

The granting of the Article 17 No. 1 permit represents a further important milestone as the Company continues to advance Playa Verde towards development. The Company notes that the permit does not replace other permits or authorisations that may be required from other Chilean State authorities. Now the Company has received approval of the mining permit, the Company can continue to progress other ancillary sectorial permits. The Company confirms that is has already submitted the mining easement, which is expected to be approved in the coming weeks, and is progressing the maritime concession application.

Andrew Dennan, Chief Executive Officer of Halo Minerals plc, commented:

"The granting of this permit represents another important milestone in the advancement of Playa Verde and continues the progress we are making across the Project's permitting and development workstreams.

"Importantly, the permit authorises the relevant mining activities associated with dredging the historic mineralised material at Chañaral, including within the urban area, following confirmation from MINVU that it had no objections to the permit being granted.

"Playa Verde presents an opportunity to recover copper from historic mine tailings while treating and conditioning material that has accumulated on the beach at Chañaral. We believe this combination of copper production and environmental benefits differentiates Playa Verde and reinforces its potential to become a responsibly developed source of copper.

"Our focus now is on completing the remaining workstreams to take Playa Verde to a final investment decision."
