Illustrating the strong buyer demand across both sectors, Christie & Co recorded a 26% increase in offers on retail businesses in H1 2026 compared with H1 2025 and sold over 100 retail businesses, averaging around four per week.
The report demonstrates continued buyer demand, noting Christie & Co received over 1,390 new registrations from buyers seeking retail businesses in the first six months of the year. The review also outlines that well-invested businesses with strong local presence, diversified income streams, and clear growth strategies are best placed to succeed, and continue to attract significant buyer interest.
